      Mt. Rushmore National Memorial is a huge mountain sculpture of four US President, located near keystone, in the black hills of south Dakota. The president depicted are; George Washington , Thomas Jefferson, Theodore teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The work was designed by the sculptor john glutton Borglum (March 25, 1871-March 6,1941).
     The Mount Rushmore national memorial is a sculpture carved in to the granite face of mount Rushmore near keystone, south Dakota in the united states.
     Mount Rushmore features  60-feot (18 m) sculptures of the heads of four united states presidents. George Washington (1732-1799), Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), Theodore Roosevelt (1859-1919)and Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). The entire memorial covers 1,278.45 acres (5.171 cm) and is 5,725 feet (1,745 m) above sea  level.

     The purpose of the memorial is to communicate the founding, expansion, preservation, and unification of the united states with colossal statues of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt.
    Originally known to the Latoya Sioux as six grand fathers, the mountain was renamed after Charles E. Rushmore, a prominent New York lawyer, during an expenditure in 1885. At first, the project of carving Rushmore was undertaken to increase tourism in the black hills region of congressional delegation and president Calvin Coolidge. The project received in 1927, and ended in 1914 with no fatalities.

     The ongoing conservation of the site is overseen by the US national park service.
     In 1998, electronic monitoring devices were in stalled to track movement in the topology of the sculpture to an accuracy of 3 mm. the site has been subsequently digitally recorded using a terrestrial laser scanning methodology  in 2009 as part of the international Scottish ten project, providing a record of unprecedented resolution and accuracy to inform the conservation of the site.
